The consortium met at Bohnenkamphaus in the picturesque Botanical Garden. The morning was dedicated to poster presentations, where ESRs showcased their research progress. Lively discussions followed, focusing on key findings, interdisciplinary connections, and future directions. A lecture by Feng Wang from the University of Amsterdam concluded the academic sessions.
Tuesday 27/02
Day two centered on real-world applications of research. The feelSpace team demonstrated innovative technologies like the tactile bracelet for the visually impaired and the NaviBelt navigation aid. Attendees engaged in hands-on testing, gaining insights into the transition from scientific discovery to practical use.
Later, the feelSpace team shared their experiences in bringing research-based products to market, highlighting the challenges of commercialization. The day ended with a compelling public lecture at Osnabrück Schloss Aula by Michael Hoffmann on eye diseases and brain research.
Wednesday 28/02
The final day was dedicated to business training and technology transfer. Business coach Nadine Schmieder-Galfe led an interactive session on identifying commercial potential in research and intellectual property strategies. ESRs pitched their business ideas, receiving valuable feedback on market applications.
Furthermore, the "Next Steps" consortium provided real-world examples of research translation, with discussions on Parkinson’s research, digital health monitoring, and virtual reality applications. These sessions underscored the importance of connecting scientific innovation with industry and patient needs.
